The Mona's Isle of 1951 was very much regarded as the most successful of the post war ships in the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company's fleet. Known within the Company as "The Yacht" she graced the Irish Sea from 1951 until 1980 when she was withdrawn and broken up in Holland.

Our gallery below, all pictures courtesy of Andrew King, show the Mona's Isle at Douglas, Llandudno, Liverpool and laid up in Birkenhead during the late 1970's.

The final four are on board shots one of which would give the present day "Health and Safety Police" a complete breakdown!
