The general cargo berth at Douglas was once the scene for the break bulk cargo handling until the advent of containerisation. Famous Steam Packet cargo vessels such as Peveril, Conister and Fenella were often to be seen here in days gone by. The four photos below are however from the 13th September 2008 and show the Ben Varrey of the Ramsey Steamship Company unloading a cargo of aggregates. (Taken by and copyright Adrian Sweeney.)
